The Isle of Wight forms the central area of this story mat, with the white area representing the chalk downland running across the island. The emphasis is on geology and palaeontology. Details reflect some of the passions of Queen Victoria's young children from their time at Osborne House. To address the National Curriculum the mat includes a river system, panels showing erosion and the three main types of rock. This mat is one of five educational interactive story mats created for local museums as a part of the Rockband project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. (2.2x1.3m, 2013)
