Tywford Gap near Winchester with the Miz Maze on top of St Catherine's Hill. Many echinoid fossils are found in the Cretaceous chalk of the Downs.

This mat was required to show local details relevant to each of the participating museums, including rivers and springs, coastal features, rock layers, hills and forests, earthworks, fossils, flora and fauna. A further requirement to indicate the age of rocks was achieved by 'labelling' features with fabrics corresponding to different geological periods, with a key in the accompanying notes. This mat is one of five educational interactive story mats created for local museums as a part of the Rockband project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. (1.8x1.9m, 2012)
